Maureen Blinn is a San Diego transplant by way of New Jersey, where she began teaching music 13 years ago. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University where she studied Piano Performance and Music Education. She has also done graduate work at Montclair State University in Music Psychology.

Maureen has experience teaching all levels K-12, however her heart is with the middle school level. She is currently in her sixth year as Music Director at Gaspar De Portola Middle School teaching Band, Orchestra, and Choir. While maintaining a comprehensive music program, she also served from 2011-2017 on the CMEA-SBS board as Honor Choir Manager, Choral Vice President, and Secondary Choral Festivals Coordinator. With help and guidance from others, she has created a new sight reading portion for choral festivals that was piloted in the 2017 season.

On her spare time, Maureen enjoys writing and arranging music for her students, playing piano, and long distance running.
