The Rancho Bernardo High School orchestra program is the largest comprehensive orchestra program in the Poway Unified School District. Varying levels of orchestra ensembles are offered, including a fully instrumented symphonic orchestra and the premiere performance ensemble, the Rancho Bernardo Chamber Orchestra. Rancho Bernardo was the first high school in PUSD to offer more than one string class to accommodate students’ playing abilities.

Students in the RBHS orchestra program have received consistent unanimous superior ratings at performance evaluations since the program’s conception in 1991. Rancho Bernardo orchestra alumni have gone on to perform in professional ensembles around the world.
